Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and community celebrating Mark Mednikov: Artist and Architect, a special exhibition featuring the work of Minnesota artist and architect Mark Mednikov.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition, hear remarks, and enjoy tea and curated sweets throughout the evening.
Featuring thirty works drawn from the artist’s private studio, the exhibition highlights the remarkable breadth of Mednikov’s creative life. From early drawings created during his studies at the prestigious Repin Art Institute in Leningrad to recent paintings and photographs of buildings he designed throughout Minnesota, the exhibition reveals a lifelong dialogue between artistic expression and architectural precision.
After immigrating to the United States in 1979, Mednikov built a distinguished career in the Twin Cities while continuing to pursue his passion for art. His architectural projects include the Cargill administrative building in Minnetonka, the Department of Revenue building in St. Paul, and the St. Paul Monastery in Maplewood. In recent years, he has devoted himself fully to painting, creating works that reflect his admiration for realism, traditional craftsmanship, and the enduring beauty of everyday life.
The Museum of Russian Art is grateful to Mark Mednikov for sharing his artwork for this exhibition and to Liza Shturman for her assistance in bringing the exhibition to fruition.
