Cirque du Nord presents Anton Chekhov’s The Bear

July 16, 2026 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
The Museum of Russian Art, 5500 Stevens Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55419
$18-22

In partnership with The Museum of Russian Art, Cirque du Nord presents two evenings of theater and music on July 16 and 19 with Anton Chekhov’s The Bear, a sharp, spirited one-act comedy about grief, pride, money, and the surprising turns of the heart.

What begins as a dispute over an unpaid debt quickly escalates into a battle of wills — and something far more unexpected.

Staged in TMORA’s Main Gallery, this debut production from Cirque du Nord brings Chekhov’s beloved comic work into an immersive museum setting.

The cast includes Nathan Keepers, Randy Reyes, and Maliya Gorman-Carter. The evening begins with a live performance by classical guitar duo Maja Radovanlija and Milena Petković.

Cirque du Nord is a newly formed circus and theater company dedicated to creating original, immersive performance experiences, with plans for a full-scale circus production premiering in 2027.
